Halon Entertainement dévoile un aperçu de son travail de prévisualisation pour le film Ad Astra, de James Gray et avec Brad Pitt. Le studio a planché sur des séquences cruciales du film, dont celle de “l’antenne spatiale internationale” qui comporte explosion, chutes de débris mais aussi d’astronautes. Autant dire que préparer en amont ces plans était crucial afin de s’assurer de la lisibilité de l’ensemble pour les spectateurs.

Diablo IV annoncé : Blizzard signe une cinématique macabre et somptueuse

Blizzard Entertainment a officiellement annoncé l’arrivée son prochain jeu vidéo : Diablo IV. Ce nouvel opus de la licence mythique se situera quelques décennies après le troisième volet et mettra en scène Lilith, créature dont l’invocation est au coeur de la cinématique dévoilée par le studio.
Les équipes internes de Blizzard ont fait ici un travail d’une grande qualité : le soin apporté à chaque détail est manifeste. En coulisses, RenderMan et Houdini, entre autres, ont été utilisés.

En ce qui concerne le jeu lui-même, Blizzard promet une redéfinition de l’expérience de jeu : exit les temps de chargement entre niveaux, place à un monde ouvert découpé en régions aux ambiances variées. La campagne devrait par ailleurs mettre la linéarité de côté pour s’adapter à ce nouveau fonctionnement.

Diablo IV sera disponible sur PC et consoles à une date encore non déterminée.

Les crabes chinois (Eriocheir sinensis) sont une espèce atypique : adaptés à la fois à l’eau de mer et de rivière, ces animaux ont des pinces recouvertes d’une sorte de fourrure qui leur vaut le nom de « crabes-mitaines » en anglais.

Outre cette apparence étonnante, leur mode de vie est très particulier : une longue migration des eaux douces vers les eaux saumâtres est au coeur de leur cycle de reproduction. Ils passent donc une part importante de leur vie à se déplacer, chercher un partenaire et à tenter d’éviter prédateurs et obstacles.
Invasive, l’espèce a su se répandre en Asie mais aussi jusqu’en Europe et aux USA. Elle a longtemps été emblématique des eaux de Taïwan, mais la population de crabes sur cette île a chuté ces dernières décennies en raison de la pollution et de la surpêche. Leur migration les rend par ailleurs très vulnérables.

C’est la vie et la mort de ces animaux qui a inspiré le clip de Zoea, chanson de la chanteuse taïwanaise Anpu. Hi-Organic était en charge des effets du projet, qui mêle images réelles et VFX, dont des crabes numériques.

Le résultat : un clip surprenant qui oscille entre réalisme sombre, images contemplatives et onirisme.
