Paris, August 2019 – Modulo Pi is pleased to announce the conclusion of a new distribution agreement with EZPro. Effective August 1, 2019, EZPro distributes Modulo Pi’s media server solutions in Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau.

Designing the next generation of media server solutions, Modulo Pi is pleased to announce the signing of a distribution agreement with EZPro.

EZPro is a distributor of world-leading pro audio, lighting, conference and control system brands in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau. The company has branch offices in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Xian and Shenyang.

Relying on products seminars, full service, and professional technical support delivered by teams of highly skilled professionals, EZPro started distributing Modulo Pi’s media servers as of August 1, 2019.

Modulo Pi’s offer consists in hardware + software media server solutions.

The Modulo Player series is a cost-effective and user-friendly line for show encoding, playback, 2D warping, and show control.

The Modulo Kinetic series is designed for the most challenging projects. As a real-time fully-integrated media server solution, Modulo Kinetic is reliable across the complete workflow: Study, simulation, show creation, encoding, 2D & 3D warping, playback, control,… The system also provides advanced real-time 3D, interactivity, and tracking capabilities.

Modulo Pi releases new Modulo Player v5.2

Modulo Pi releases new version of the Modulo Player media server and embedded live mixer

Paris, July 2019 – Modulo Pi is pleased to announce the immediate availability of Modulo Player v5.2, as well as a new version of its embedded live mixer which now includes full integration of Stream Deck control pads.

Designing the next generation of media server solutions, Modulo Pi is pleased to announce the official and immediate release of Modulo Player v5.2 which takes automation to the next level.

Modulo Player is a cost-effective hardware and software system combining the extensive capabilities of a media server and a live mixer.
Introduced at ISE 2019 as a world’s first, the embedded low-latency live mixer is available through a dedicated application compatible with Mac and PC. Operators can work simultaneously on Modulo Player’s software and the live mixer application, allowing cost and time saving.
The mixer’s intuitive user interface allows to access Program and Preview screens, create an unlimited number of destinations and mix engines, work with presets, manage layer properties and transition effects including borders, keying, mask, fade, flying.
A new version of the embedded live mixer now offers full support of the Stream Deck and Stream Deck XL control pads by Elgato.
Thanks to an editor directly integrated in Modulo Player’s remote software and mixer application, operators can now easily customize the LCD keys of the Stream Deck. All parameters entered in the editor appear in real-time on the Stream Deck pads.
Modulo Player and its embedded mixer can support any number of Stream Deck pads simultaneously, providing a user-friendly solution to control presets or recall tasks.

In addition, Modulo Player v5.2 further extends the show control capabilities of the system.
On top of the existing wide library of video-projectors, mixers, and matrices that can be controlled through Modulo Player, Modulo Pi is adding more than 40 new devices which can now easily interact with Modulo Player.
The new devices include NDI PTZ cameras control, as well as a series of USB phidgets such as controllers, sensors, motors, GPIO, RFID tags, etc. Now included in Modulo Player’s internal library, the phidgets expand the interactivity and automation capabilities of Modulo Player. One can easily create tasks in Modulo Player that will trigger automatically depending on the phidgets’ variables such as temperature, humidity, lux levels, distance, and more.

All enhancements and references of the new supported devices are included in Modulo Player’s new user manual.

Modulo Pi’s new ruggedized chassis now shipping

Paris, April 2019 – After unveiling its new ruggedized chassis at ISE 2019, Modulo Pi is pleased to announce that the new enclosure is now shipping. The new suspended chassis is available as an option for both Modulo Player and Modulo Kinetic.

Designing the next generation of media server solutions, Modulo Pi is pleased to announce that Modulo Player and Modulo Kinetic are available in a regular chassis, as well as a brand new ruggedized chassis.

The new enclosure was designed to endure the roughest conditions. Its suspended chassis offers higher strength and resistance to extreme handling and transport.
The new enclosure features professional connectivity, including ruggedized lockable powerCON and etherCON connectors by Neutrik.
To help facilitate the cabling process, all connectors on the rear panel are labelled and numbered.
Finally, a new sound card with XLR balanced outputs delivers enhanced sound quality.

Modulo Pi grows team to support international expansion


Paris, January 2019 – Modulo Pi is pleased to announce two new hires into the sales and marketing teams: International Business Developer Phil Blue, and Marketing & Communications Manager Amandine Teyssier. The new recruits will support Modulo Pi’s international expansion.

Designing the next generation of media server solutions, Modulo Pi is pleased to announce two new appointments to support the company’s expansion on an international level.

Phil Blue joins as International Business Developer. Blue is a highly skilled technical sales manager with extensive experience in the Pro AV and media servers’ fields.
Prior to joining Modulo Pi, Blue ran VER’s European media servers’ department. He also shows strong commercial experience having managed distribution networks and sales operations at Avolites and Green Hippo. His background as a freelance lighting and video designer will also be a valuable asset to support Modulo Pi’s existing and new clients in their projects.
Based in the United Kingdom, Phil Blue will work in close collaboration with the French headquarters to further expand business internationally. His role will encompass sales and training operations to offer international clients and partners the best experience with Modulo Pi’s media servers.
Phil Blue comments: “Modulo Pi offers the perfect product range for both installation and live mapping projects. This is an exciting opportunity to help grow a great brand with great people behind the scenes”.

Amandine Teyssier has also joined Modulo Pi as new Marketing & Communications Manager. With 10-year experience in the Pro AV industry and previous position of Communications Manager at Analog Way, Teyssier will be in charge of taking Modulo Pi’s marketing strategy to the next level. She will define and implement the activities to raise awareness and educate customers and partners on the benefits of Modulo Pi’s state-of-the-art media server solutions. Teyssier is based in the company’s French headquarters near Paris.
“I’m very excited to join Modulo Pi, a team of passionate professionals committed to offer the most comprehensive and innovative media server solutions. I look forward to supporting them in spreading their vision and grow awareness about their outstanding systems” comments Teyssier.

Modulo Pi is pleased to announce a new version of Modulo Kinetic, the ultimate media server designed for the most challenging projects. The all-in-one toolbox takes real-time simulation, interactivity, and tracking to the next level with a new upgrade that will be introduced at ISE 2019 in booth K135, Hall 14, on February 5-8.

Modulo Kinetic is a fully integrated real-time media server solution that can be used across the complete workflow including show study, simulation, encoding, playback and show control.
Modulo Kinetic features a user-friendly 2D compositing tool with non-linear timelines, a low-latency live mixer, and a powerful 3D engine and show controller, all brought into one consistent environment.
Modulo Pi’s ultimate media server solution is ready for outstanding visual quality. It handles the most advanced formats including Apple ProRes, HAP up to 8K+, and uncompressed still sequence TGA or 10-bit DPX.

Working in close collaboration with creatives, producers and operators all around the world, Modulo Pi keeps on pushing limits of real-time interactive media servers with a new version of Modulo Kinetic that will be introduced at ISE 2019.

Through Modulo Kinetic’s intuitive and collaborative user interface, one can easily simulate and visualize a show in 3D. Modulo Kinetic’s new version makes real-time VR easy for improved show study and simulation: one single button in Modulo Kinetic’s software allows to visualize a show scene from any angle with a VR headset. No coding is needed to enjoy all the benefits of Modulo Kinetic’s real-time interactive VR.

To optimize performance and usability, Modulo Pi has developed its own tracking system. Available in Modulo Kinetic’s new version, the optical tracking module allows real-time projection on moving objects, as well as video-projectors auto-calibration.
Modulo Kinetic is also compatible with other tracking and motion control solutions such as BlackTrax, or Kinesys.

A powerful 3D particles engine offers real-time generative and interactive content. Particles can be created directly in Modulo Kinetic’s user interface. A nodal panel allows to drag-and-drop devices and sensors, and connect them to timelines or 3D scenes to perform real-time tracking or interactive video effects.

Modulo Kinetic is available in a standard chassis, and a new ruggedized framework. The reinforced suspended frame and professional connectivity is designed to endure rough conditions.

First, we recreated the stage environment in Kinetic 3D viewer. All the effects (generative content, interactive 3D effects, interactive objects, 3D area detection of objects as triggers) where created in their own 3d scenes in Modulo Kinetic, and where then added to the timeline.
At the office, we used leap motion to prepare all the effects beforehand. Once on stage site, we switched to ModuloTracker. For the Robe Viva followspot, the beacon position was sent to the Ma lighting desk using PSN protocol. In this new version, we’ve also added the possibility, with a Mocap suit, to animate a rigged avatar through real-time capture.

ISE 2018 : Thanks for visiting us!

February 2018, Paris – France

For the second year in a row, our stand at ISE 2018 was packed with people. Our interactive demo in collaboration with Pixel N’Pepper, using Modulo Kinetic real-time 3d tracking and the preview of our real-time particle engine on a moving Nao robot, was met with excitement and brought many people to our booth.

With a Media Server, a 3d tracking system, interactive solutions, real time effects and a 3d engine – all integrated into one solution – Modulo Kinetic is much more than a Media Server.

ISE18 was also the opportunity for us to preview our live mixer embedded on both our solutions, Modulo Kinetic and Modulo Player. Coupled with the new Deltacast Flex live Capture card which offers more inputs, our mixer allows a lot more flexibility in live conditions to manage live sources.

Our new rugged suspended chassis, designed to face the harshest conditions when touring or during corporate events, also generated a lot of curiosity.

Demos of the extensive capabilities of both Modulo Player and Modulo Kinetic, alongside a live-interactive experience, will be showing in booth K135, Hall 14, from February 6th to February 9th

Modulo Kinetic can be used across the complete workflow, including study, simulation, media creation, encoding and playback. Simple to use with its intuitive user interface, projection study and simulation in 3D is simple with interactivity available via easy-to-use nodal programming. As with the Modulo Player, users can also create customised simplified interfaces for smartphone, PC or tablet usage.

Modulo Kinetic also offers 3D projector calibration for the perfect final event execution.

Modulo Kinetic’s capabilities were tested in depth for the Michel Polnareff tour, projecting beautifully intricate 3D backdrops onto 40 mechanically tracked cubes, amongst many other scenes.

LePuy du Fou – France’s grand-scale historical theme park famed for its theatrical spectaculars – also snapped up Modulo Kinetic pre-launch to run and control its original new show for 2016, ‘Le Dernier Panache’.

The internationally acclaimed theme park boasts eight Modulo Kinetic VNODE 4K supplying eight Christie Boxer 4K projectors to unveil projected scenes for the audience. But this is no ordinary show as the audience is seated on a vast round, tiered, bleacher-style seating platform that rotates through 360°.

The modulo Kinetic receives information of the orientation of the platform via the OSC protocol onto the relevant screen to advance the story and perfectly manage the projected content.

This is the first time Pixel n’Pepper had the chance of creating an interactive installation for children and parents. They chose the Origami theme to create small 3D paper scenes. ​​​​​​​Using a touch screen of 42 inches, the user was able to choose between 4 different themes in which he could select different animations and apply them to the facade of the Chapel Ste Foy, which was divided into 5 zones. The players could also play with 3D objects such as a planet, a giant squid or a lion, and make them move in real-time, or change their textures and colors.

After the tremendous success of Atelier des Lumières in France, Culturespaces further deploys
the concept of immersive digital art exhibition with a new venue: Bunker de Lumières. The new
art center will be inaugurated on November 16 in South Korea. The new impressive project was
created using 28 media servers by Modulo Pi.

While Atelier des Lumières will soon celebrate 1 million visitors just 9 months after opening in
Paris, Culturespaces will inaugurate a new digital art center in South Korea. Bunker de Lumières
is established on the tourist island of Jeju, in a former command center which was transformed
to host the AMIEX® concept – Art & Music Experience – developped by Culturespaces.

Augustin de Cointet de Fillain, Multimedia Project Director at Culturespaces, explains: “We were
looking for more than a location. What matters to us is the character of the venue that will host
our digital art exhibitions.” The bunker of the Jeju island was found by TMONET, a South-Korean
company specializing in new technologies. Culturespaces has signed its very first licensing
agreement, granting TMONET the exploitation of the venue.

The former 1,600 sqm bunker was redesigned to host the future digital art exhibitions, in
accordance with the venue’s original character and volumes. Culturespaces was in charge of the
layout plan study and audiovisual material recommendation.
About the AV equipment, Augustin de Cointet de Fillain explains: “For consistency, userfriendliness,
and reliability reasons, Modulo Pi’s media server system is our chosen solution for all our digital art centers. The show we are playing in different sites has been encoded once in the Modulo Pi’s systems. Some adjustments are made to adapt the show to each venue, but the logic remains the same. This helps us save a great amount of time.”

A total of 28 x Modulo Kinetic were installed in the Bunker de Lumières’ control room. The
comprehensive solution designed by Modulo Pi was used from the study phase: “We import a 3D
model of the venue directly in Modulo Kinetic’s interface to do the simulation. This allows us to
choose the most appropriate video-projectors and lenses, and determine the projection area”,
comments Augustin de Cointet de Fillain.
Due to the low ceiling height, the simulation resulted in the selection of the EBLU1105 videoprojector by Epson. Chosen for their optical ratio, 90 video-projectors were installed.

The first exhibition will be dedicated to Gustav Klimt’s artwork to commemorate the 100-year
anniversary of the Austrian painter’s death. The show created by Gianfranco Iannuzzi, Renato
Gatto, and Massimiliano Siccardi can also be seen at Atelier des Lumières in Paris.
An important work was done in terms of scenography to adapt the show to the South-Korean
venue. To face the challenge offered the bunker’s architecture with its low ceiling height and
numerous pillars, Culturespaces’ teams joined several pillars together, hence creating cubes
used as new projection surfaces, completed by mirrors and reflection effects.

The 28 Modulo Kinetic and 90 video-projectors are feeding a 3,400 sqm projection area. Modulo
Pi’s media servers helped deal with all overlapping areas, and they centralize the control of the
architectural lighting, the 40 audio speakers, and the overall show control.

Augustin de Cointet de Fillain further details the choice for Modulo Kinetic for all their existing
and future digital art centers: “Modulo Kinetic is an all-in-one solution that enables us to manage
everything through one powerful system. With Modulo Kinetic, we know we have a steady system
working 24/7, which is also easy to setup and operate. Its flexible UI Designer allows the creation
of a show control interface tailored for the local teams who will be responsible for the running of
the site and its maintenance.”
Several user panels were created with Modulo Kinetic’s UI Designer. They include all relevant
information for an optimized and safe site operation, with the UPS status among other things. All
created panels are available on iPad for a friendly use.

The AV integration was done by Live-Lab, assisted by the French company Pixel N’Pepper. The
install was completed in 5 weeks, with teams working on the video-projectors installation, and
configuration of the media servers at the same time. Modulo Kinetic’s new show import feature
enabled several operators to work simultaneously on media transfer, timeline encoding, and show
control. A daily import then allowed to merge the last show versions.
Local teams were trained to learn how to use Modulo Kinetic to control the whole installation,
show, and maintenance tools.

Visitors will discover the Bunker de Lumières starting November 16. They will enjoy a unique art
experience around Gustav Klimt’s artwork, an immersive approach made possible through
technology.

Culturespaces keeps on rolling out its AMIEX® concept with new digital art centers that will open
in the city of Bordeaux in France, as well as the United States, and Asia. “Technology in service of
artworks enables us to offer a new approach to art. The immersive experience we create appeals
to senses, and relies on emotion. It seduces and brings a new audience to these works of art”
concludes Augustin de Cointet de Fillain.

More than 500,000 visitors are expected for the first year of the Bunker de Lumières.

For its 2018 Jenkins World Tour, CloudBees gathered a large community of developers from all
over the globe in two locations: San Francisco (USA) in September, and Nice (France) in October.
For these major rendezvous bringing together 2,500 attendees, a wide and neat video projection
with mapping was created using Modulo Kinetic, a powerful video solution by Modulo Pi.

Immersive, a cutting-edge production company based in San Francisco, was in charge of the
entire show for the 2018 Jenkins World Tour in the United States, and France.
The main stage used for keynotes consisted in two wide screens, plus a third screen with a globe
shape in front of them.

In San Francisco, 5 x Christie Boxer 30K were installed to feed the screens on a 135 feet (41
meters) stage. To deal with the challenges of this show, Sean Mason, Founder and CEO of
Immersive, decided to opt for the Modulo Kinetic media server solution: “We work with Modulo
Pi’s systems for all our projector mappings now. Modulo Kinetic is bulletproof, powerful, and
versatile. It has everything in it.”

For both events, Modulo Kinetic was used in a configuration with two Kinetic Vnode servers, both
controlled through one Kinetic Designer. The show was designed to offer maximum flexibility,
with any source that could be routed to any location. Four opening videos were
played, composed of two videos on the side screens and one on the front globe, playing
simultaneously. Immersive teams could also route the PowerPoint presentations on the walls, or
on the globe.

Immersive worked in close collaboration with CGI Interactive, the company in charge of creating
the introduction videos and PowerPoint presentations for the event. Creative teams developed all
content on a template created by Immersive.

An Ascender 32 mixer by Analog Way was in line to do all the switching for the 6 x MacBook and 6
x PCs. The outputs of the Ascender 32 were sent to the Kinetic Vnode servers in charge of playing
the content for stage left and stage right.
Sources also included 2 x cameras for IMAG, and an SDI matrix recording the laptops, mixer, and
camera feeds sent to Modulo Kinetic.

Facing the challenge of adapting the show made in San Francisco to a new venue in France, Sean
Mason and his teams could rely on Modulo Kinetic’s powerful 3D engine for show simulation: “We
were coming to a place that that we’ve never been to before. You have a floor plan and that’s it.
For this reason, we 3D modeled the entire space, and could place our projectors, making sure we
would have the correct coverage.”

The simulation study also turned out to be helpful to project on the globe screen: “In this case,
Modulo Kinetic saved us because if we shot straight on, then the globe got a big shadow. In the
projection study, we had to move the projectors all the way to the side and shoot at an angle to get
behind the globe.”

The stage in Nice being 85 feet (25 meters), Immersive had to redesign part of the show and adapt
the content. The simulation done using Modulo Kinetic also helped select 7 x Barco 30K
projectors. Sean Mason explains: “Projection study is something we always had trouble with in
the past. There’s plenty of time when we’ve done it with other software. It looks good in the
software, but when you get to the site, it’s just not working. This is not the case with Modulo
Kinetic. It includes a library with exact specifications for every projector. Even the lens choice is
accurate. We used to bring two sets of lenses, but now we don’t have to do that anymore. It actually
saves a lot of money.”

Warping and mapping over the globe were done on site, using Modulo Kinetic’s mobile remote
application. “Warp remote is a great attribute, says Mason. Thanks to it, we’re able to get right
next to the projection, and do all the fine-tuning.”
The multi-user remote control software helped save time by working simultaneously on warping
and show encoding.

All show encoding and control was done through Kinetic Designer. Around 40 tasks were created
for the show, as well as custom panels using the system’s UI Designer.

Thanks to the panels, all tasks could be triggered live using Modulo Kinetic’s iPad application.
Creating tasks through Modulo Kinetic allowed to easily deal with last minute changes in the
show, being able to add anything, programming fade outs or loops in the timeline,… “Modulo
Kinetic’s software is very easy to use. It’s very fast to write your cues and make your interface for
the iPad”.

The event that was Immersive’s first international show was a success. The company will work
on the 2019 Jenkins World Tour that will be held in San Francisco and Lisbon next year.

In this video :
First, we recreated the stage environment in Kinetic 3D viewer. All the effects (generative content, interactive 3D effects, interactive objects, 3D area detection of objects as triggers) where created in their own 3d scenes in Modulo Kinetic, and where then added to the timeline.
At the office, we used leap motion to prepare all the effects beforehand. Once on stage site, we switched to ModuloTracker. For the Robe Viva followspot, the beacon position was sent to the Ma lighting desk using PSN protocol. In this new version, we’ve also added the possibility, with a Mocap suit, to animate a rigged avatar through real-time capture.

For the opening and closing ceremonies of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, The Electric Canvas, an award-winning Australian company specialized in large-scale projections, managed the AV projection relying on Modulo Pi’s high-end media server: Modulo Kinetic.

The 21st Commonwealth Games took place in April 2018 at the Carrara stadium in Queensland, Australia. Produced by Jack Morton Worldwide, the opening and closing ceremonies were spectacular shows with 4.000 volunteer performers. Combining theatre, dance, and music, the shows were created to reflect the Gold Coast culture, embodying its spirit and its energy.

After winning the tender, The Electric Canvas prepared the event over 6 months. To achieve such a large-scale video projection in the stadium, they chose 20 x Christie Boxer projectors, as well as Modulo Kinetic, a powerful media server with advanced features from Modulo Pi.

Peter Milne, Director of The Electric Canvas, explains: “I’ve been involved with Yannick Kohn – founder of Modulo Pi – and his technology for nearly 20 years now. When he launched Modulo Pi in 2010, we were very keen on adopting his latest system, Modulo Player”. Recognized internationally as a leader in large-scale and architectural projections, The Electric Canvas has relied on Modulo Player for several years now: “We use Modulo Player on many projects because we really like the X-map among other features.”

When entering the bid for the Gold Coast 2018, Milne chose Modulo Kinetic, Modulo Pi’s new media server solution: “We were very excited when Modulo Kinetic was launched, and now we have quite a lot of Modulo Kinetic servers. In fact, when we proposed Modulo Kinetic to the Commonwealth Games, we only had a few months experience with it. That was possible because we trust Modulo Pi when it comes to this type of software development. We were sure that their technology would be reliable and solid because of our previous experiences with Modulo Player.”

Working closely with the content producer, The Electric Canvas designed the projection overlay which determined how to cover the field of play, and how to project the other elements efficiently, while providing maximum creativity.
The main video projection was a visualization of Earth and its history, projected on the stadium playfield. This came with several challenges: “We had to put the 20 video-projectors at a height of 67 meters above the ground in the sports lighting towers. We did this because the stage was covered with sand, so there would have been a lot of unwanted texture, had we projected from a normal setting position. Especially as the sand was being constantly disturbed by the performers. Putting projectors so high was a difficult thing to do, particularly for technicians, who had to climb more than 200 steps every day to get to the top of the towers. But it was all worth it in the end, as the resulting image quality was very good” comments Peter Milne.

To handle all necessary changes, the flexibility in the video-projection programming brought by Modulo Kinetic was a must for both ceremonies of this major event: “Ceremony production is a very unique process. There are changes in the choreography or content every day, so you have to have a very flexible system to be able to cope with those changes and incorporate them, sometimes even within the same rehearsal.”

In a time-critical context, The Electric Canvas’ operators made the best of Modulo Kinetic’s capability to preview the show in 3D: “During the day, when we don’t have the benefit of darkness, we can run the show from the recording of the previous evening, using video of the rehearsal, to then further fine-tune the programming of the projection.”

The show also included 3D mapping on Migaloo, a 30 meters long inflatable white whale, handled by 12 puppeteers. The whale floated into the arena, with content projected onto it after it reached its final position. The projection on the whale then transferred to the field of play at the end of the sequence.

The show video was synchronized to timecode, which was delivered with the music, but sometimes had to run independently from the timecode, as Milne explains: “In the case of having to hold entries and exits by the cast, or other unplanned factors, you need programming strategies, creating loops in the content so you don’t have any unexpected result in the picture when the timecode stops, or when something unexpected happens in the show. There are a lot of media servers who don’t cope with this very well. Having a strategy whereby you can, at some point in the music, ignore the timecode, allowing the music to stop and to loop, waiting for something else to happen when there’s a mechanical breakdown on the field, or when somebody falls over, is crucial. These contingent loops are a major and important part of these live shows, so having a system like Modulo Kinetic that deals with those contingencies, in a very fluid and flexible way, is essential.”

Operators could also rely on the backup capabilities of Modulo Kinetic: “On a show this size, you have many departments involved, with everybody running from the timecode. One other important feature of Modulo Kinetic is the automatic reversion to back-up systems, should we have a computer problem or failure. That is also something Modulo Kinetic is good at.”

In the end, the projection was impressive and looked very good in both ceremonies, with The Electric Canvas receiving lots of positive comments. About the utilization of Modulo Kinetic on this international multi-sport gathering, Milnes concludes: “It was reliable, flexible, and easy-to-use in a situation that can sometimes change dramatically every day. The Modulo Pi media servers are very specifically built for technicians and for the creatives that do the type of work that we do. Because the Modulo Pi team listens to technicians and creatives that work on projects, they modify and improve their software specifically on that feedback. For us, that’s an enormous advantage compared to other much larger companies.”

Identiverse, formerly known as The Cloud identity Summit, is the world’s largest identity conference.
Featuring over 200 sessions and masterclasses, Identiverse offers exhibits and presentations from more than 50 vendors.
This includes presentations from some of the world’s most influential voices in digital identity, financial services, privacy, healthcare, security, IoT, mobile, architecture and more.
This corporate event is hosted by Ping Identity Corporation, a provider of cyber security solutions to Fortune 100 companies globally.

The event takes place in a different city in June every year. Identiverse2018 edition was held in Boston, at the Hynes Convention Center.
The main stage this year was in the Grand Ballroom, a 24,500 square foot space. In addition to the main stage, there were also 7 breakout rooms and an expo stage.
All AV elements including projection, sound, lighting, cameras, record decks, live streaming, content creation (i.e. motion graphics and projection video elements)
and all preproduction design and rendering were provided by Immersive, a cutting-edge production company based in San Fransisco. For the projection mapping both on the ceiling as well as the main stage, Immersive chose Modulo PI solutions to control the 12 projectors they required.

Modulo Kinetic was hosting the ceiling projection.
During the preproduction phase, Modulo Kinetic 3D preview allowed Immersive to test the accuracy of their projectors placement, as Sean Mason, Immersive CEO , explains :
“One challenge we faced was part of the ceiling projection was being blocked by the stage set. In the Kinetic projection study, we realized that the center stage arch would be blocking two of the projectors.
Not only did Kinetic make us aware of the issue, it also helped solving it, all before getting on show site : through the Kinetic Render Surface interface, we were able to send content from a different projector to fill in the blocked area. Without Kinetic, this fix would not have been possible, and we would not have been able to fill in the shadow. Kinetic truly saved the day! »
Once on site, Immersive made the best of some other Modulo PI exclusive features during set up, like the Remote Warp functionality to adjust the projection from any location in the Grand Ballroom: “The Remote Warp is extremely helpful to fine tune the mapping from anywhere in the room. It allows us to get up right next to the projection and adjust the warp/blend to achieve a perfect mapping” adds Mason.

Immersive also enjoyed The User Panel, another exclusive modulo PI feature. It was used to write cues, trigger several simultaneous tasks and control all Modulo Pi media servers “We love the Panel. It was absolutely necessary to control the show because the server hosting the central stage projection was backstage while another one was in the Front of House. Thanks to the Panel, we were controlling them both while sitting in the audience during the show.” adds Mason.
Sean Mason concludes : “Modulo Kinetic is definitely more powerful than any server we’ve used. Overall, every Modulo Pi product has been amazing to use and extremely powerful. The Modulo team has been incredible to work with, very supportive, quick to respond to questions and a wonderful partner to have. We are looking forward to many more Modulo Pi installations!”’

Skynight – Open Doors Open day 2018

For it’s open doors day, Skynight in collaboration with Key Labs, created a racetrack projected on the floor of it’s warehouse, with real remote-control cars racing onto it.
To make the experience close to video games, the cars would flash in red every time they were out of the track and particles were generated in real time to create exhaust fumes behind the vehicles.
A smaller 2D version of the racetrack was displayed on a TV screen, giving information about the real-time position of each car and the number of laps it had completed.

This was all made possible thanks to BlackTrax technology to track the cars in real-time, and Modulo Kinetic using the tracking information to generate real-time particules and other projection effects on the moving cars.
