Technicolor et son ancien PDG Frédéric Rose devront faire face à la justice

Quelques jours après l’annonce de la fermeture de MPC Vancouver, la maison mère Technicolor est mise en examen aux côtés de Frédéric Rose, son ancien PDG. La mise en examen et la fermeture ne sont pas liées, mais sonnent comme une fin d’année assez peu positive pour le groupe.

L’affaire judiciaire, initialement révélée par nos confrères de La Lettre A et Variety, est liée à la fermeture du groupe de prost-production Quinta Industries qui avait fait faillite en 2011 puis avait été rachetée par Technicolor en 2012.
Quinta Communications, la société mère de Quinta Industries, avait alors déposé une plainte qui débouche enfin sur une mise en examen, après 7 ans d’enquête.

De quoi est suspecté Technicolor ? Tout simplement d’avoir favorisé la faillite de Quinta Industries de façon à pouvoir racheter les biens de l’entité à prix cassés. Technicolor a d’ailleurs à l’époque déboursé 700 000€ environ pour mettre la main sur Quinta (Technicolor possédait déjà 17,5% du capital) alors que l’entreprise était valorisée 36 millions d’euros.
En parallèle, Technicolor aurait aussi caché ses intentions de lancer son studio de post-production Technicolor Entertainment Services France. Enfin, le groupe est soupçonné d’avoir dissimulé d’autres informations : en prenant des parts au sein de Quinta, Technicolor avait l’interdiction contractuelle de négocier avec son concurrent Deluxe. Technicolor serait passé outre cette interdiction, ce qui aurait nui aux chances de Quinta de sortir de la faillite.

Face à ces accusations, Technicolor préfère ne pas réagir, se contenant d’indiquer que le groupe ne commente pas les affaires en cours.

Pour l’heure, on retiendra que Technicolor et Frédéric Rose sont mis en examen pour escroquerie et abus de confiance. Outre la plainte au pénal, Quinta Communications a lancé une plainte civile et réclame pas moins de 60 millions d’euros de dommages et intérêts.

Didier Huck, nouveau président de la FICAM

Didier HUCK, Directeur des relations institutionnelles et RSE de la société Technicolor – Mikros, a été élu président de la FICAM, la Fédération des Industries du Cinéma, de l’Audiovisuel et du Multimédia, le 19 juin 2018. Un nouveau Comité Directeur de personnalités issues de l’univers des Industries de la Création a été désigné par les entreprises adhérentes.

Didier Diaz n’aurait pas souhaité se représenter pour un second mandat selon nos informations. La FICAM a tenu à le remercier chaleureusement pour son engagement durant ces deux ans.
