Le CNC a donné des chiffres concrets sur la fréquentation des salles de cinéma en France pour 2020. La chute est de taillé : -69,4%.
Si un effondrement était prévisible au vu des évènements de l’année, entre confinement et distanciation, les données du CNC permettent de mesurer concrètement l’ampleur du désastre pour les exploitants de salles, distributeurs et studios.
Très logiquement, la chute de fréquentation a aussi eu pour conséquence un nombre très réduit de blockbusters : si habituellement, explique l’AFP, une vingtaine de films atteignent ou franchissent la barre des deux millions d’entrées, cette année seuls trois longs-métrages ont réussi cette performance : 1917, Sonic et Tenet.
Ces mauvais chiffres devraient se poursuivre au moins au début de l’année 2021, puisque les salles sont fermées jusqu’à nouvel ordre.
