CD Projekt Red, développeur et éditeur de jeux vidéo à qui l’on doit la saga The Witcher, planche activement sur son très attendu Cyberpunk 2077. Pour patienter d’ici la sortie PC et consoles fixée au mois d’avril 2020, le studio nous présente un aperçu vidéo des coulisses de sa bande-annonce de l’E3.

On appréciera doublement ce making-of, d’une part pour les éléments qu’il nous permet d’entrevoir (concepts, motion capture, modèles), d’autre part car il s’agit d’un cas rare où le studio client n’élude pas le nom de son prestataire : l’équipe Goodbye Kansas Studios est listée dans les crédits situés en fin de vidéo, de même que les acteurs de performance capture.

Frederic Siegel dévoile Honour, un surprenant court-métrage à la palette de couleurs très réduite : uniquement des tons orangés. Il met ici en scène une histoire de science-fiction dont l’animation reste toujours lisible malgré son style graphique.

Sur une planète lointaine, une créature primitive est bannie par le chef de sa tribu. Exilée et sous le poids d’un honneur bafoué, l’entité va dans la contrée inconnue située au-delà de son foyer et y trouve de quoi assouvir sa vengeance…

Réalisé, écrit et animé par Frederic Siegel, le film a été coproduit avec le collectif suisse Team Tumult.
