TrendForce: the mobile 3D sensing infrared laser projector market will reach almost $2 billion by 2020

TrendForce says that smartphone companies are developing 3D sensing capabilities following Apple's iPhone X launch (with its 3D sensor). The company estimates that the market for mobile 3D sensing by infrared laser projectors will grow from $246 million in 2017 to $1.95 billion by 2020.

Current solutions for mobile 3D sensing include structured light and time of flight (ToF). The iPhone X uses structured light with a 30,000 dot IR projector. Time of flight developers include STMicroelectronics, Google/Infineon/PMD and MicroVision.

Mission

Au sein de l’équipe marketing, vous serez en charge de la stratégie multicanal digitale et sa mise en œuvre opérationnelle.

Profil

De formation supérieure, Bac +3/5, idéalement issu du marketing, école de commerce, Université ou équivalent, vous disposez d’une première expérience réussie en e-commerce, marketing digital, communication online et offline.

  • Capacité à définir et mettre en œuvre une stratégie e-commerce et digitale
  • Aisance rédactionnelle (emailings, actualités, blog, réseaux sociaux)
  • Maîtrise du français et de l’anglais (catalogue et fiches produits)
  • Maitrise de Photoshop
  • Appétence pour les nouvelles technologies de l’audiovisuel
  • Motivation, créativité, ponctualité, autonomie, esprit d’équipe et d’initiative
  • Excellente organisation et gestion de son temps de travail
  • Pratique vidéo/photo fortement appréciée
  • Connaissances en développement web, WordPress, Illustrator et InDesign seraient un plus

David Burke rejoint les studios Laika : de quoi renouer avec le succès ?

Les studios Laika (L’étrange pouvoir de Norman, Les Boxtrolls, Kubo et l’armure magique, Monsieur Link) annoncent le recrutement de David Burke au poste de Chief Marketing Officer.

Ce dernier aura fort à faire : avec des budgets de production constants (de l’ordre de 60 millions de dollars), le studio a connu des résultats de moins en moins bons ces dernières années. Ainsi, si Les Boxtrolls (2014) et L’étrange pouvoir de Norman (2012) oscillaient entre 100 et 110 millions de dollars de recettes, Kubo (2016) n’avait engrangé que 70 millions environ. Monsieur Link (2019), lui, n’a pas su trouver son public et a récolté 17 millions seulement.
Si ces films ont évidemment leurs défauts, les résultats ne semblent pas à la hauteur de leurs qualités artistiques : le problème vient donc peut-être moins du fond que de la manière de les vendre. D’où le caractère crucial du marketing.

Travis Knight, président et CEO du studio Laika, résume l’attente qui découle de cette embauche : il explique dans le communiqué David Burke dispose de plus de 20 ans d’expérience dans le secteur du cinéma, et que son aide sera précieuse pour construire l’avenir de la marque Laika.
Burket a géré les sorties de plus de 380 films. A la tête de la branche irlandaise d’Universal, il a notamment géré les sorties des films d’Illumination avec succès… Mais aussi celles des films Laika.

La tâche s’annonce ardue, mais on ne peut que souhaiter que ce recrutement redresse le navire Laika : avec des histoires souvent originales, une vraie volonté artistique et des innovations technologiques (impression 3D, effets visuels au service de la stop-motion), les studios Laika avaient su apporter de la fraîcheur et un ton bien spécifique dans l’industrie de l’animation.
