Comment se fabriquer un adaptateur ADB vers P-ADB pour la Pippin avec une Game Gear

Un amateur de jeux rétro s’est posé une question intéressante : comment se fabriquer des adaptateurs P-ADB pour la Pippin ? C’est un sujet que je n’ai pas tellement creusé pour une bonne raison : j’ai déjà des adaptateurs P-ADB vers ADB et ADB vers P-ADB.

Il a fait deux choses intéressantes. Premièrement, il a refait une image qui donne le brochage complet. Le connecteur P-ADB a plus de broches que le connecteur ADB, qui n’en utilise que trois dans le cas de la Pippin.

Le brochage (retrostuff)

Deuxièmement, surtout, il a trouvé une source d’approvisionnement intéressante pour les connecteurs mâles et femelles. Et je me sens bête de ne pas l’avoir remarqué. En effet, le connecteur P-ADB utilise un Hosiden HGC0492… comme le connecteur Gear to Gear de la Game Gear. Oui, le connecteur dont je parle dans cet article, et qui servait à relier deux Game Gear ou à brancher une manette sur la console.

Un câble Master Link avec un adaptateur “breakout”. Il suffit ensuite de rebrancher le tout sur de l’ADB

Il explique comment réutiliser le câble Master Link, et comment récupérer un connecteur femelle sur une console. La dernière partie se concentre sur le pilote pour la variante ADB de la manette, qui se trouve assez facilement. Je testerais à l’occasion, vu que j’ai un adaptateur Master Link.
