TouchOSC is a mobile app for iOS and Android. You can use it to control compatible softwares via your iPad or your iPhone. Your device become a cool remote for your desktop app.
As Bazik supports OSC, it allows you to control Bazik without being in front of your computer. In this tutorial, I’m using an iPhone, but it’s working with an iPad.
Select a color bank, modify parameters, shift, switch, break and play with preset pads. Get a complete control of effects part and active or unactive automation.
It seems tedious, but it’s worth it !
1. First, be sure your computer and your iPhone are on the same Wifi network. If you don’t have one around you, create it from your computer.
2. Please install the TouchOSC app on your device.
3 .Download the special layout below.
4. Copy this layout on your iPhone with iTunes. Get help on TouchOSC website.
5. Launch TouchOSC, then choose this layout.
6. Go to Connections / OSC and edit the Host adress.
Your Host adress must be your computer adress on the network. To find it, go to your Network preferences and check your IP address. Be sure it’s your IP address in the same network than your device (wireless).
7. Now launch Bazik, and open the Options panel.
8. Copy the TouchOSC’s “Local IP address”…
… and write it into Bazik’s OSC first big field.
Now insert Ports Outgoing and Incoming (generally 5000 & 5001) in the small fields.
9. Click “setup OSC” and go to the Controls panel. Try to change a parameter in Bazik or in TouchOSC : Now you can control Bazik with your Iphone !
Maybe Bazik is going to prevent you about incoming connexions. Please Allow that, so TouchOSC can send data to Bazik.
You don’t have to be a expert, but run TouchOSC requires time and patience. Follow the steps quietly and you will succeed.
OSC remote work in both directions. If you change a Fx value directly in Bazik, the remote must be update in realtime. If not, it’s probably a error with the remote adress in Bazik (check step 8).
Yes, you simply have to create a local network from your Mac and connect your device directly on it.
First, be sure your computer and your device are on the same network. And be sure you use the good IP address from your computer in this network.
With TouchOSC, sometimes, the Local IP address need time to be update if you just change your network preferences. Try to relaunch the app and check if the address has changed.
If you have a doubt with your Bazik configuration, try to use TouchOSC with another software and come back when it’s work, so you can understand what is the problem and solve it.
You can find more help on the TouchOSC website.
Just some words to say thanks to Resolume team that support and promote Bazik
Bazik was create as a visual plugin for this type of vj software, and it’s really cool to have some feedback and support.
“We just had an excellent time playing around with Bazik. All of the fun of generative visuals, with a simple interface that was designed with performance in mind. Well worth your time !” Resolume team
Jl Vision present his AV show during Uto Karem dj set using Bazik among others softwares for text animation and movie loop playback.
We also need some VJ Software to have some visuals at our performances so here goes the Bazik software for PC. I have nothing against Windows, but I assure you adapt a Windows application is not the easiest thing in the world. There is more work to do, but the essential is there : an app for easily visualize his music during a show, a concert or dj set, Windows compatible.
Spout and GLSL preset are coming soon.
Download and feedback, please use the forum board.

Today’s topic comes from a thread on reddit: “Some websites are reasonable, $15 for 20 loops… but head over to Resolume.com and you’ll find $90 for 25 loops or VJLoops.com and a single 720p loop is $9 (royalty free license). How the hell can these people justify charging that much? I get it takes time […]
Starting Out as a VJ Some people may be completely new to VJing or just getting started. What would you suggest they do to get started? Well.. learn the basics such as the technical things, find the hardware & software that suits you, sharpen your sense of art and practice. When did you start VJing and what […]
Did you know that you can stack duplicate effects to create generative VJ Loops in Resolume? In today’s VJ tutorial we’re going to continue showing how beginners can create easy generative VJ loops using nothing but Resolume and it’s built in effects. Should VJs Use Beeple Clips? “No Beeple. Unless it’s a clip he released this week or you can really hide it. Everybody’s using those clips and have used them forever.” There are some interesting comments whenever Beeple is brought up for VJ Loops. Go on forums and you’ll notice lots of VJs start out by […]
There are a lot of threads from new VJs asking about the best way to get started VJing. While some of the advice may be useful, it can quickly become an overwhelming avalanche of information. What’s Projection Mapping?? Midi vs. OSC?? Is there a standard when it comes to VJing?? Instead of giving you more things to learn, I’m […]

One of the biggest challenges for VJs is organizing their VJ loops. Which files are encoded properly? How long are these clips? What’s the resolution? Unlike DJs, VJs don’t really have any software like iTunes that’s designed for organizing their media. This usually leaves VJs to organize their content using boring old folders, lame. Today […]

The Resolume team dropped some exciting news earlier this week, Resolume 6 is currently in beta and it’s available to download now. There’s a lot of new improvements but today I’m going to focus on 6 new features that I think are really sweet for Resolume VJs. New Features In Resolume 6 Beta 1. 64-Bit […]
Resolume 6 Beta was released last week and it added an amazing feature, Ableton Link. This feature makes it really easy to VJs to quickly sync to DJs and use BPM synced visual effects. If you work with DJs you’re going to love this. Today I’m going to explain what Ableton Link is, how it works, […]
During a Facebook livestream on Zero To VJ someone asked a question about setting up Traktor with Resolume. …I was trying to get some video to auto-sync with Traktor through Ableton. I’d MIDI clock out of Traktor into ableton, and have a clip with 1/4 notes that would then BPM into arena. But, now, it […]
Today’s article is inspired by some questions around audio reactive visuals/effects in Resolume. Hi , so i VJ mostly on psytrance partys , and i find it difficult to use sound input for example in Resolume 5 as it just can’t distinct the beat or melodys in this style of music , it’s just too […]

Virtual reality (VR) experience In the Eyes of the Animal is an artistic interpretation of the sensory perspectives of four British species. Created using Lidar scans, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) / drones & bespoke 360° cameras, the work is accompanied by a bin-aural soundscape using audio recordings sourced from Grizedale Forest, in the north of England.
Created by creative studio Marshmallow Laser Feast (MLF) – who delight in exploring the line between virtual and real-world experiences – this critically acclaimed work has now been developed into a free, online experience, for a number of devices, at ITEOTA.com

Artificial neural networks(ANNs), a largely used method in machine learning and cognitive science, are inspired by the biological neural networks, namely the neural system of the animals. The ANNs are composed of several nodes, layers and connections which simulate to some extent the message exchange and processing through a biological neural network. In fact, ANNs tries to find an approximate functions that evaluate all the inputs in order to give a meaningful output concerning the data. Each function is specific to the learned data according to which the form of the ANN is shaped. So, ANN adapt itself to learn from the data, to mine it; it then turns into a generic processing model that evaluates, classify, categorize the inputs, likewise our brain, neurons and synapses.
As the quantity of layers, nodes and connections in an artificial neural network increase, the structure gets more complex. Getting the inspiration from the structure of an ANN, our aim is to redefine the complexity of a neural network using abstract objects and sound referring to it’s natural form.
