SAN ANTONIO — March 28, 2018—NewTek today announced the NewTek NC1 Studio I/O IP Module, adding SMPTE ST 2110 support to NewTek IP Series and TriCaster® TC1 – 44- and 16-input, IP-native, 4K, 60P, software-driven live production systems. The NC1 I/O IP is designed for broadcasters seeking to simplify their infrastructure by using high-speed networks to move video and audio throughout their facilities, while providing access to existing Ethernet networks and a clear pathway to fully virtualized production.
The NC1 IP will be on display as part of the IP Showcase of SMPTE ST 2110 interoperability at NAB Central Hall Booth C12634 from April 9-12 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The NC1 Studio I/O IP Module has 4 channels that can be set to input or output SMPTE ST 2110 video sources. Each channel can be independently configured for resolutions up to 1080p at 60 frames per second. NC1 I/O IP will interoperate with systems and devices across a network for switching, streaming, display, and delivery. Modules can be stacked in a single location or stragetically deployed in multiple locations to meet the demands of any production.

Existing customers can take advantage of the new features through software upgrades free of charge. Connect Spark converts either SDI or HDMI signals into NDI sources to be shared over a standard Ethernet networks either wired or wirelessly. The NewTek PTZ NDI camera is the world’s first PTZ camera to deliver video, audio, tally, PTZ control, and power over a single Ethernet cable. Other features include multicast mode to allow one Connect Spark NDI source to be viewed by many destinations without setting up multiple point-to-point connections, preserving expensive network bandwidth. Users can easily turn on multicast mode via the Connect Spark’s configuration web page. It is also now possible to find Connect Spark devices on other networks via IP address and add them to the list of visible sources using NDI Access Manager, a free application available from NewTek. Additionally, Connect Spark now supports time code stamps on the video frames via LTC time code connected to Connect Spark’s audio input with automatic detection of all settings. Any NDI-enabled application can then access the time code information to enable precision syncing of multiple NDI streams.
Connect Spark is also a wireless video recorder. It supports either a Micro SD card or will record to any USB drive connected to one of the USB ports. This gives users the ability to ISO-record all of their cameras in a production for fixes in post or to provide backups for other recordings.
